At “ASKA Symphonic Concert 2005, featuring Takayuki Hattori” in November 2005, was the first time for ASKA to do a collaboration concert with an orchestra. The Tokyo New City Orchestra, conducted by Takayuki Hattori, with ASKA singing 19 songs with full of spirits, is still fresh in our memories.
Two years and half have past since then.
The differences from the previous concert and the “ASKA SYMPHONIC CONCERT TOUR 2008 “SCENE” which is planned for this time are
・This concert tour includes many cities in Japan and Asian countries.
・These concerts will be collaborated by each regional orchestra to collaborate with ASKA.
After the symphonic concert in 2005, ASKA has been active and he released a solo album, went to a tour and also has released an album of CHAGE and ASKA and went to a tour as a member of duo. Let us introduce you ASKA who is recommencing his career as a solo-artist and his words for the next tour, “SCENE”.
ASKA’s words for ASKA SYMPHONIC CONCERT TOUR 2008 “SCENE”
“The style that I jump in and sing with each regional orchestra, might sound as a junk-ball in this music industry for a musician singing in this genre. I am quite aware of that. I don’t have anything positive or interest on how different it will sound if I grab on it differently. I could say it will be a joy to touch the art that any kind of entertainment could produce. As a professional singer, it doesn’t mean that I can move the audience if I don’t miss a thing on stage. I once talked about the good live, that it happens on that day, at the venue where the atmosphere starts floating to one direction. You feel joy and happiness everyday at daily life, but there are reasons to make you feel them. But at the live stage, you have to give the cue and reasons during the time that you are sharing with the audience. And it starts all of a sudden. Sometime, it happens in one minute but sometimes you need to build it up. It is not something that you get from trivial reality, but the reaching point is a sensational thing, and it is actually in the live. You don’t have to really think about it that way, the “audience” and “performer” is a community who want to “be happy” and “have fun”. Everybody wants to be “off-loaded”. “Off loaded” from what, well you don’t have to know, just “off-loaded”. Its “off-loaded” that people sharing the energies can feel. “Off loaded” without restriction. That is the real thrill of live performance. To share the joy of “off-loading” with people speaking different languages. It is difficult wanting to have stable tranquility. I guess somebody is singing every moment, but in this era, it might be better to report to you, that I am at the age of feeling the importance in singing overseas.”※1
About the title “SCENE”
“ “SCENE” is my lifework. This is the axis as a solo artist. But actually, I haven’t done any live performance with the title “SCENE” yet. So, I wanted to use this as a title. In my imagination, “SCENE” fits the orchestra.”※2
